Ba Na Tourist Area - Nui Chua

Ba Na – Nui Chua is located in Hoa Vang district, Da Nang city, about 50 km west of the city center. At an altitude of 1,487 m above sea level, this place enjoys a cool and pleasant climate all year round, making it an ideal resort destination for both domestic and international visitors.

From Ba Na, visitors can cast their eyes over the beautiful natural panorama of Central Vietnam: the dynamic city of Da Nang, Vung Thung Bay curving softly like a silk ribbon from the foot of Hai Van Pass to Son Tra Peninsula, My Khe Beach, Non Nuoc Beach, the Marble Mountains complex, the Thu Bon River winding around fertile fields, and Cu Lao Cham appearing faintly amid the blue sea. All blend together to create a charming landscape painting that few places can match.

Not only famous for its magnificent scenery, Ba Na is also a place where a rich and diverse ecosystem converges. Its primeval forests are home to 256 animal species, including 61 mammal species, 178 bird species, and 17 reptile species. The flora is also extremely diverse, with 543 species belonging to 136 families and 379 genera. In particular, Ba Na is home to many rare animals such as the crested argus, Asian black bear, and red-shanked douc langur… In 1986, this area was recognized by the Government as a nature reserve, with the goal of preserving tropical forests and many rare species of flora and fauna.

From the early 20th century, to meet the French demand for resort stays in Central Vietnam, a series of villas, hotels, and guesthouses were built along the mountain slopes, on the top of Nui Chua and Ba Na Peak. Over time and after the devastation of war, this place was once forgotten. However, in recent years, Ba Na has been restored and upgraded, gradually becoming a modern tourist area while still preserving its ancient and charming character. Many French-style buildings, Buddhist cultural areas, wine cellars, and a system of hotels, villas, restaurants, bars, sports grounds… have contributed to creating a vibrant new appearance for this place. In addition, activities such as campfire nights, promotion of mountain specialties, and picnic trips also bring visitors many memorable experiences.

Today, from Vong Nguyet Hill, visitors can travel to the central area by a modern cable car system that is convenient and safe. Every year, Ba Na welcomes tens of thousands of domestic and international visitors. Spending a night here is an opportunity to fully feel the rhythm of the mountains and forests, and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere amid vast nature.

To conquer the summit of Ba Na, visitors will pass along a winding road about 15 km long through the mountains and forests. Upon arrival, they can not only immerse themselves in the fresh and cool air but also admire the spectacular beauty of nature. On clear days, from Ba Na one can take in a vast open space at a glance, revealing scenery that is both majestic and poetic.
