Da Nang with Diverse Beach Services

Every summer, when the weather turns hot, more and more locals and tourists head to the beach. Not only attracting visitors with cool water and open space, Da Nang’s beaches have also become more appealing thanks to many newly refreshed entertainment and recreational activities. The Management Board of Son Tra Peninsula and Da Nang tourist beaches, together with service businesses, are making efforts to change the appearance of the beaches, contributing to bringing visitors many interesting experiences.

Vibrant sports and entertainment activities at the beach

These days, services such as kite selling and swim ring rentals on the beach are very lively. The family of Ms. Vu Nguyet Minh, from Ho Chi Minh City, has a 7-year-old son who especially loves kite flying. Against the clear blue sky, the little boy excitedly runs after brightly colored kites. Ms. Minh shared that the whole family had to wait until their child’s summer break to arrange the trip, and throughout the past few days, every afternoon he eagerly asked his parents to take him to the beach to fly kites. Not only children, but many adults also enjoy taking part in this gentle yet relaxing activity.

In addition, marine sports are increasingly attracting many visitors. One of the most popular activities is parasailing. After experiencing the view of Da Nang coastal city from above in the afternoon, Ms. Lei Xao Wang, a Chinese tourist, could not hide her excitement. Although she had to wait quite a long time due to the large number of visitors, she still happily waited for her turn and shared that the feeling of flying in the sky and admiring the sea from an ideal height was a wonderful experience.

According to Mr. Tran Thanh Thien, Executive Director of the DanaBeach marine entertainment service area under Que Viet Joint Stock Company, the company has operated activities such as speedboat parasailing, banana boats, and jet skis for several years. However, it was not until 2014 that these services became widely known and chosen by tourists. Although operating from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily, the largest number of visitors usually gather between 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. because the weather is cooler.

Mr. Thien added that marine sports activities are now being organized in a more methodical and professional way. In particular, for tourists staying at hotels in the city who wish to use the services, the company arranges free shuttle transportation. These recreational activities not only create more attractive choices for visitors but also make the atmosphere of Da Nang beaches more vibrant each afternoon.

Da Nang beaches are increasingly renewed and more attractive

Not only diversifying entertainment activities, many business households and service units at Da Nang beaches have also boldly invested in facilities to improve service quality. Mr. Ho Van Ban, a business owner at Beach No. 1, said that earlier this year he spent nearly 200 million VND to purchase mesh chairs, cushioned chairs, umbrellas, and many new pieces of equipment to serve guests. These synchronized and modern tables, chairs, and shelters have created an eye-catching appearance for a corner of the beach.

In addition, some units have invested in many more items to attract visitors, such as organizing music stages in the evening, building safe model beaches with colorful floating bridges, or arranging free games for children.

Mr. Nguyen Duc Vu, Deputy Head of the Management Board of Son Tra Peninsula and Da Nang tourist beaches, said that previously marine sports activities were still quite quiet, and the number of participating visitors was not high. However, in recent years, along with the sharp increase in domestic and international visitors to Da Nang, beach services have increasingly received more attention and use. As a result, business households have also become more enthusiastic and willing to invest to improve service quality and attract guests.

Currently, Da Nang tourist beaches have 15 service business groups with more than 100 operating business households. Service types are increasingly being invested in toward a more civilized and professional direction, helping visitors feel secure in choosing places to rest and have fun without encountering solicitation or competition for customers.

Notably, the situation of arbitrarily raising prices or selling above listed prices has also been rectified and has almost disappeared. According to Mr. Nguyen Duc Vu, when clearly recognizing the benefits from tourism, business households have proactively invested in facilities while also paying attention to maintaining hygiene and the marine environment landscape. Thanks to that, business activities on the beaches have increasingly become orderly and professional, contributing to changing the appearance of Da Nang beaches and bringing satisfaction to visitors.
