Hanoi – where a thousand years of civilization converge

Hanoi, the land of a thousand years of civilization, has long been regarded as the heart of the nation, where the faith, traditions, and aspirations of the Vietnamese people converge. The capital appeared in the flow of history in 1010 under the name Thang Long, meaning “Ascending Dragon,” symbolizing strong development and the indomitable spirit of the nation.

Over nearly a millennium, Hanoi not only preserves many precious cultural and historical values but also possesses a system of ancient and sacred temples, pagodas, relics, and scenic sites. It is also a heroic land that went through difficult years of war during the resistance wars against the French and the Americans, and today appears with a beauty that harmonizes ancient architecture, French romantic charm, and the modern breath of a developing city. Coming to Hanoi, visitors not only admire the sights but also have the opportunity to listen to historical and cultural stories deeply imbued with the soul of the nation at every destination.
